![]() Lemmy I believe acquired this Thunderbird around the late 1960s. The Non-Reverse Thunderbirds distinctive styling and huge, thunderous tone make it a standout on stage and in the studio. Gold knobs, the white pickguard found on most Gibson Thunderbird basses, and it is a sunburst Gibson Thunderbird. Mahogany body, light, despite its size, mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, the beauty shows some playwear, small dents and small signs that betray the many hours of use of the excellent musician who owned it before. Ever since it was first released back in 1965, the Non-Reverse Thunderbird has been THE choice for forward-looking bassists who want to make their own path and steadfastly refuse to follow the crowd. The Thunderbird has a mahogany neck crossing the body of the instrument (we find this construction on the models of electric bass guitars of the 4000 series produced by Rickenbacker), mahogany “wings” are then glued to the central part of the body. This beautiful Thunderbird Bass from 2015 is a little killer for rock or metal and will make you look like a rocker on stage!!! Introduced in 1963, the Thunderbird was the first model of “long scale” electric bass guitar produced by Gibson. ![]() ![]() Damn, what a nice one !!! The Thunderbirds have always caught my eye.
